ARCHITECT

Prepare/coordinate detailed drawings, plans and design progress sessions relating to architectural features of buildings. Utilize knowledge of building materials, engineering, and architectural practices to operate computer-aided drafting and BIM software to produce designs, layouts, drawings, charts, forms and records. Analyze NYC building codes, zoning ordinances, and other governing authorities to determine their effect on architectural designs. Coordinate various MEP/AV/IT engineering, lighting, landscape, acoustic, and other specialty consultants through all project phases. Coordinate internal design work closely with Project Managers, Directors, and Partners. Prepare professional presentation packages for client meetings and other public meetings. Coordinate and prepare construction documents and specifications. Assist in preparation and critique of marketing materials. Architectural product design and development. Use Revit, Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Revu; laser cutter and 3D printers to create detailed physical models and prototypes; Photoshop, V-Ray, and Enscape; Ladybug and Honeybee. Prepare drawings and plans for green building practices in compliance with LEED and other sustainable design documentation. Additional office administrative responsibilities, including leading mentorship efforts for high school and undergraduate architectural programs, facilitating intern development in the office, and operating office model shop to assist in advanced model building techniques. Educational Requirements: Bachelors degree in architecture + NYS Registered License.
